The Club expects more than 10,000 car owners and visitors to come to town and pour over a half-mile
of vehicles -- more than 500 entries ranging from antiques to street rods, muscle cars, choppers,
antique campers and bicycles. Admission to the show is free to the public with an entry fee for
vehicles displayed in the show. Officials from the United Street Machine Association will be judging the
entries for a galaxy of prizes and trophies. By the way, if you have a car you're just dying to show off,
download the registration form and join the fun.
In addition to being totally dazzled by all the chrome, whitewalls, fuzzy dice, thumping exhausts
and flashy paint jobs, you'll be able to dance in the street to the sounds of the 50's and 60's,
add to your T-shirt collection and stuff yourself with great food.
'Got car fever? Can't wait for the Woodward Dream Cruise? Well, Clawson is THE place to
be to see the hottest of anything on wheels. One week before the "big show"
on Woodward, the Clawson Lions Club will be hosting its own "big show" -- the "Down on Main St."
Car Show. The event will take over downtown Clawson on Saturday, August 9, 2008 from noon to
7:00 pm on Main Street (Livernois) between 14 Mile and Normandy ("13-1/2 Mile").
'Never been to Clawson before? Here's a map.
